ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced SQL DBA practitioner to join our Operations team. You will "own" the function and be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, performance tuning, provisioning, backup and recovery, application deployment support .... everything to keep our application running to optimal performance for our customers. You will love technical problem solving through to resolution and take pride in being recognised as a true data professional.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Wrangle our database administratively, in particular:
    • management of DB and performance tuning techniques for SQL Server
    • DB design and best practice implementation
    • performance, size and operational monitoring, including optimising the existing structure to meet business demand
    • triage and remedy any issues
    • develop solutions for new projects
  • SQL guru expertise:
    • oversee SQL and LINQ query optimisation
    • proactively ID trends in SQL statements and provide recommendations for efficient resource use
    • administer SQL Server
  • Design and implement highly available products that scale to meet business demand
  • Identify resource requirements to ensure high availability of DB systems

    ABOUT YOU:

    • Relevant tertiary degree
    • MCSE qualification
    • Min 3 years professional experience administering or managing SQL Server
    • Experience with database migration, performance tuning and optimisation, and setting up and managing database connections
    • Experience using cloud based resources and services
    • Excellence in data backup, recovery, security and integrity
    • High level of written and verbal communication skills, to communicate effectively with our global team members and our customers
    • Problem solving and sound judgment in relation to technical matters
    • Level of flexibility while working in a dynamic and collaborative global team
    • Enjoy passing on your knowledge to upskill other team members
